Lime-Based Plaster & Render
Traditional breathable lime work for listed and period buildings
Lime is how walls were finished long before modern gypsum and cement, and it's still the right answer for many older buildings. Because it's breathable, lime plaster and render let solid walls move moisture rather than trapping it — which is why it belongs on period and listed properties where a modern sealed finish can do real harm.
It's specialist, slower work that rewards a careful hand, and it happens to be the kind of job Mark and Chris most enjoy. As they put it themselves, they especially love working on listed buildings — matching the finish to what the building actually needs.
Breathable, for old walls
Lime lets a solid wall breathe and buffer moisture, which is why it suits period, heritage and listed buildings where a hard, sealed finish would trap damp and cause problems down the line.
Sympathetic to the building
Working on an older or protected building means respecting how it was built. We use traditional lime plaster and render to keep the work in keeping with the original structure.
